Scar: untold survival Stories

Updated: May 7, 2023

A scar on her body, a memory she hides,

A wound that's healed, but deep inside it resides.

She tells herself it doesn't matter, that it's just a mark,

But the truth is it haunts her, leaves a permanent dark.

She covers it with makeup, with clothes and a smile,

But the pain still lingers, makes her heart beat wild.

For it's a reminder of a time she wants to forget,

Of a battle she fought, and the fear that she met.

She's damaged and broken, with a heart full of pain,

Living in a world that feels so cold and insane.

She tries to move on, to let go of the past,

But the memories keep coming, they're holding her fast.

She's searching for a way out, a way to be free,

From the scars and the memories that haunt her like a disease.

She wants to find the light, to feel the warmth of the sun,

But for now, she's stuck in the darkness, feeling so undone.

So she covers her scar, with makeup and cloth,

Trying to forget the time when her life was so tough.

But deep down she knows, the pain will always remain,

And the battle she fought, will never be in vain.
